This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Virginia, west
central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.


There is a risk for excessive rainfall which could lead to flooding
of urban and poor drainage areas today and tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.


Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Bland, Giles, and Tazewell counties in
southwest Virginia and portions of Mercer, Monroe, and Summers
counties in southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas
along with water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 815 PM EDT, emergency management reported minor flooding
in portions of Mercer County due to heavy rain from
thunderstorms. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Back Creek, Blue Lick Creek, Adair Run, Big Spring Branch,
Beaver Branch, Big Branch, Bluestone River, and Blacklick
Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch are expected
over the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bluefield... Princeton...
Pearisburg... Narrows...
Athens... Peterstown...
