...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides and Vernon and
southeast Texas, including the following areas, Hardin, Northern
Jasper, Northern Newton, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton and
Tyler.

* WHEN...Through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected
to
develop and move east across the region this afternoon and
evening, then again on Monday. Heavy rainfall can be expected
in some of the storms with average totals between 2 and 4
inches. Training of storms could lead to isolated higher
totals of at least 6 inches or more. This rainfall is
expected across areas remain saturated from previous rains
over the 1 to 2 weeks, and additional rainfall will likely
runoff, creating a potential flood threat.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Neches River at Neches River Saltwater Barrier.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Widespread flooding, especially in
Northwest Orange County from Lake View downstream to the Saltwater
Barrier. Several homes and camps are flooded or threatend.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 8.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:15 PM CDT Sunday was 8.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.0
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then rise to 8.1
feet early Friday morning. Additional rises are possible
thereafter.
- Flood stage is 4.0 feet.

become flooded as well, especially in the Barlow Lake community.

- At 9:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 72.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 PM CDT Sunday was 72.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 72.5
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 68.0 feet.

- At 9:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 18.8 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 PM CDT Sunday was 18.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 18.9 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall early tomorrow afternoon.
It will rise to 19.1 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will
then fall again but remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

...The National Weather Service in Shreveport LA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Texas...

Neches River At Rockland affecting Jasper, Polk, Tyler and
Angelina Counties.

For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto,
Diboll, Rockland...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, High water will flood and close several
roadways especially in the Fox Landing community. Some low area
homes in the Fox Landing community will also be threatened with
flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 26.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:00 PM CDT Sunday was 26.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.6
feet Tuesday evening.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
29.6 feet on 02/13/1946.
