This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas..
.DAY ONE...Today And Tonight.
Unseasonal hot weather will begin to approach heat advisory
criteria over portions of South Central Texas today. High
temperatures today could reach the middle 90s over most areas and
as high as 105 over parts Val Verde County and the Rio Grande
Plains. Heat index values could climb into the 104 to 109 degree
range over much of the the I-35 Corridor, Coastal Prairies, and
Rio Grande Plains.
Late this afternoon and early this evening, the is a less than 10
percent chance for an isolated strong storm to approach severe
levels over parts of the Hill Country. Hail and strong wind gusts
would be the main concerns, should a thunderstorm develop.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
The pattern for an early season heat wave continues Wednesday
through Monday with some of the hottest air projected to be
Friday through Sunday. Those spending extended time outdoors and
not acclimated to the heat could be susceptible to heat related
illness if not taking proper heat precautions, such as drinking
plenty of water and taking frequent breaks out of the sun and
heat. Heat Advisories are possible for some areas over the next
week.
Additionally, a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible
late Wednesday afternoon and evening. Hail along with strong
winds are the primary hazards should storms develop across the
Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, or I-35 Corridor.
