This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas..

.DAY ONE...Tonight.


A Flood Watch is in effect for the eastern half of South Central
Texas through 7am Thursday. A few locations within the watch may
see upwards of 5 inches of rain by tomorrow morning.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect through 2 AM CDT across
portions of the I-35 corridor from Schertz northward through
Williamson county, Hill Country, and the coastal plains.

Strong to severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rains are
expected this evening through tonight. The main threats are damaging
wind gusts, large hail, and flooding. A tornado or two is
possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.


A Flood Watch is in effect for the eastern half of South Central
Texas through 7am Thursday. A few locations within the watch may
see upwards of 5 inches of rain.

Chances of thunderstorms continue Thursday through Sunday. Strong
to severe thunderstorms and heavy rains cannot be ruled out, mainly
Thursday and Friday.

An early season round of hot temperatures is expected for the
middle part of next week. Highs will climb into the mid 90s with
highs in the 100-105 range over the Rio Grande Plains looking more
likely. Heat products may be needed Tuesday- Wednesday.

...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northern Williamson
and central Burnet Counties through 200 AM CDT...

At 118 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Shady Grove to Granite Shoals. Movement was
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Georgetown, Burnet, Marble Falls, Bertram, Serenada, Granite Shoals,
Horseshoe Bay, Bartlett, Meadowlakes, Liberty Hill, Jarrell,
Florence, Highland Haven, Inks Lake State Park, Georgetown Dam,
Watson, Joppa, Andice, Shady Grove, and Oatmeal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for
south central Texas.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bandera, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell,
Comal, De Witt, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays,
Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Travis, Williamson and
Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Periods of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms
will bring the possibility of heavy rainfall to the watch
area. Isolated amounts in excess of 2 to 4 inches have
already fallen in some locations and additional isolated
amounts of 2 to 4 inches could be possible overnight.
