Angelina River Near Lufkin affecting Angelina, Cherokee and
Nacogdoches Counties.

For the Angelina River...including Alto, Lufkin...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Angelina River near Lufkin.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 165.0 feet, Expect flooding to continue for several
days with the majority of the gravel access roadway flooded.
Boaters and four wheel-operators should use caution traversing
both upstream and downstream on the Angelina River as currents can
become swift and turbulent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 164.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 158.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 PM CDT Saturday was 164.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 166.1
feet early Wednesday morning.
- Flood stage is 161.0 feet.
- Flood History...No available flood history.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas,
southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana,
southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.


Widespread showers and thunderstorms this morning will become
scattered this afternoon before dissipating this evening. The
strongest storms will have the capability of producing small hail,
strong wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall. While widespread flash
flooding is not likely today into this evening, isolated flooding of
low lying and flood prone areas will be possible. In addition, the
rainfall could result in additional rises on area waterways.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.


There will be a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms late Monday
into Monday night, mainly north and west of the I-30 Corridor which
includes Southeast Oklahoma, far Northeast Texas and portions of
Southwest Arkansas.

Additional probabilities of strong to severe thunderstorms will be
possible late Wednesday into Thursday and Thursday Night. A cold
front will begin pushing into the region from the northwest and
strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible along and in advance
of this feature. In addition to severe weather chances, locally heavy
rainall will also be likely late Wednesday through late Thursday.
