Angelina River Near Lufkin affecting Angelina, Cherokee and
Nacogdoches Counties.

For the Angelina River...including Lufkin...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Angelina River near Lufkin.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 165.0 feet, Expect flooding to continue for several
days with the majority of the gravel access roadway flooded.
Boaters and four wheel-operators should use caution traversing
both upstream and downstream on the Angelina River as currents can
become swift and turbulent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 165.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 158.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 166.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 163.8 feet Monday
morning.
- Flood stage is 161.0 feet.
- Flood History...No available flood history.

roadways especially in the Fox Landing community. Some low area
homes in the Fox Landing community will also be threatened with
flooding.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 29.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 29.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.6
feet this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas,
southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana,
southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.


No hazardous weather is expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.


Heavy rainfall returns to the forecast by Thursday, as the next
system pushes into the region. Another 2 to 4 inches of rainfall,
with isolated higher amounts, will be possible in some locations. A
Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall is in effect Thursday into Friday
morning. A new flood watch will likely be needed ahead of this
event, but there is still some uncertainty as to how far north the
heaviest rainfall axis will shift. In addition, the threat of a few
strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out during this late week
timeframe. Otherwise, improving weather conditions are expected by
this weekend through early next week, with temperatures climbing into
the lower 90s.
