This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Heavy rain will accompany thunderstorms as they continue to move
across the region this morning. Flooding may occur with some of the
storms.
Additional scattered thunderstorms may develop across parts of
Central Texas this afternoon. Lightning and heavy rain will be the
main threats.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Daily storm chances are expected much of next week. Some severe
weather will be possible, especially early and mid next week.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

* WHERE...Cowhouse Creek near Pidcoke.
* WHEN...Until late tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 38.0 feet, Major flooding of low areas near the creek
is expected.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 5:25 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 34.6 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 38.7
feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late
this afternoon.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is ongoing.
* WHERE...Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas and Mills counties in Central
Texas
* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding, and
low-water crossings are inundated with water and may be
impassable. Area streams and creeks will continue to rise from
last night`s heavy rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area.
Flooding is already occurring.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gatesville, Hamilton, Goldthwaite, Hico, Evant, Mullin, Fort
Gates, South Mountain, Osage, Ridge, Arnett, Harbin, Hurst
Springs, Democrat, Shive, Star, Bee House, Aleman, Moline and
Pottsville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
