...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SAN SABA COUNTY THROUGH 1245 AM
CDT...

At 1201 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles west of Cherokee, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
San Saba, Richland Springs, Algerita, Cherokee, Colorado Bend State
Park, Bend, Chappel, Sloan, and Harkeyville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in San Angelo.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
west central Texas.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM CDT THURSDAY...


* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
counties, Mason and San Saba.

* WHEN...Until 145 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1148 PM CDT, thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall
extended from Loyal Valley to Pontotoc to just west of San
Saba to Elm Grove...moving northeast at 35 mph.Doppler radar
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
arroyo and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Saba, Richland Springs, Algerita, Cherokee, Sloan,
Pontotoc, Fredonia, Chappel, Skeeterville, Bend, Art, Elm
Grove, Hedwigs Hill, Loyal Valley, Hilda, Hall, Harkeyville,
Spring Creek, Locker and Us-190 Near The San Saba-Lampasas
County Line.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
FM 1030 crossing Wallace Creek, CR 424 crossing Rough Creek,
Vater crossing Hasse Creek, Spy Rock crossing, Oak Grove
crossing, Old Union crossing San Fernando Creek, CR 208

* WHEN...Until 100 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1107 PM CDT, thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall over
much of Mcculloch county northward to Coleman...was moving
northeast at 35 mph toward Brownwood. Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and
small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brownwood, Brady, Coleman, Early, Santa Anna, Bangs, Blanket,
Melvin, Trickham, Winchell, Brookesmith, Rockwood, Mercury,
Waldrip, Placid, Gouldbusk, Lohn, Lake Brownwood, Camp Bowie
and Lake Brownwood Near Thrifty.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Belle Plain at Romines, Gifford at Beaver, 4th Street at
Wood, Magnolia at Belmeade, Cordell at Anderson, Good
Shephard at 11th, South Blackburn between Adkins and 13th,
White Street at Live Oak Creek, Willis at Belmeade and Indian
Creek at 9th.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of west central
Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight


There is an Enhanced Risk for severe thunderstorms this late
this afternoon into tonight across all of West Central Texas.
Large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and a few tornadoes
will be possible. Locally heavy rainfall may also result in
localized flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday


Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible across much
of the area Thursday into the weekend. Some of the storms may be
severe Thursday afternoon and evening. The main hazards will be
large hail and damaging winds, although an isolated tornado is
also possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is likely this evening and may be necessary
again Thursday afternoon and evening.
