This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central Louisiana,
northwest Louisiana, east Texas and northeast Texas.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY

EVENING...

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.


Moderate to heavy rainfall will return to the area today, as the
next system pushes into the region. Another 2 to 4 inches of
rainfall, with isolated higher amounts, will be possible in some
locations. With a Moderate to High Excessive rainfall risk in place
today, a Flood Watch has been issued from this afternoon through
Friday evening. In addition, the threat for some strong to severe
storms exist today. All modes of severe weather will be possible,
but damaging winds will be the highest threat.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.


A chance for showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast on
Friday and Saturday. In addition, a few strong to severe storms
cannot be ruled out during this timeframe. Otherwise, improving
weather conditions are expected by Sunday and through early next
week, with temperatures climbing into the lower 90s. Additional rain
chances may return on Wednesday with another weak cool front.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN NACOGDOCHES AND
WEST CENTRAL SHELBY COUNTIES THROUGH 145 PM CDT...

At 111 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Woden, or 8 miles southeast of Nacogdoches, moving north at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Nacogdoches, Garrison, Melrose, Woden, Martinsville, Appleby, and
Stockman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...


Attoyac Bayou Near Chireno affecting San Augustine, Nacogdoches,
Shelby and Rusk Counties.

For the Attoyac Bayou...including Chireno...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Attoyac Bayou near Chireno.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Expect minor lowland flooding of boat
ramps and pastures. Move livestock and equipment to higher ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 17.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 AM CDT Thursday was 18.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall to 17.6 feet this evening. It
will then rise to 17.7 feet just after midnight tonight. It
will fall to 17.1 feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise to
18.5 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will fall again but
remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
18.4 feet on 01/20/1995.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Bienville, Caldwell, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle,
Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine and Winn and Texas,
including the following counties, Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches,
Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine and Shelby.

* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms will increase and become more
widespread by Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday.
Rainfall totals of 2-4 inches with localized higher amounts
will be possible in the Flood Watch area.
