This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue to
push through North and Central Texas into the morning hours before
clearing off to the east. Our main concern will be regarding the
flash flooding threat, with impacts potentially lingering through the
afternoon.

Additional potential for severe weather will return across North and
Central Texas through the overnight hours tonight. The primary
threats will be large hail and damaging winds, along with flash
flooding. There will be a low chance for isolated tornadoes as well.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Daily storm chances will continue through the weekend. Heavy
rainfall will likely accompany this activity and could lead to
localized flash flooding concerns, especially over areas that will
already be saturated due to recent rainfall.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Freestone County in central Texas...
Northeastern Limestone County in central Texas...

* Until 1000 AM CDT.

* At 721 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges have
observed 4 to 8 inches of rain since yesterday afternoon across
western Freestone and eastern Limestone counties. The rainfall is
tapering off in intensity and the heaviest rain is over. However
flash flooding is already occurring, with water rescues reported
west of Teague. Many roads and low water crossings remain flooded
and will be for some time longer.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and emergency management.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mexia, Groesbeck, Teague, Fairfield, Wortham, Lake Limestone, Fort
Parker State Park, Lake Mexia, Tehuacana, Kirvin, Cotton Gin,
Fallon, Freestone, Shiloh, Farrar, Donie, Dew and Lanely.

This includes Interstate 45 between mile markers 181 and 196.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of North and Central Texas, including the
following counties: Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Ellis, Falls,
Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Kaufman, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan,
Mills, Navarro, Anderson, Henderson, Leon, Van Zandt, Milam and
Robertson.

* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor-drainage and urban areas. Creeks and
streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higher
amounts up to 5 inches. Also continue to monitor for
additional warnings should they be issued, especially in
areas that have already seen excessive rainfall totals over
the last 12 to 24 hours.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Trinity River near Long Lake (Oakwood).

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 37.0 feet, Minor flooding of the Coffield Prison
agricultural land, and ranch and farm lands along the river, is
expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 33.1 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Friday morning and continue rising to a crest of 38.0
feet Saturday evening.
