This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Scattered thunderstorms are possible generally north of I-20 this
morning and into the early afternoon. Lightning will be the main
threat.

Thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread tonight and
continue into Sunday morning. Heavy rain will be the primary
concern, though a few storms may also be strong to severe with
damaging winds and hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.


Daily storm chances are expected much of next week. Some severe
weather will be possible, especially early and mid next week.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including
the following counties, in north central Texas, Bell, Bosque,
Collin, Comanche, Cooke, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis,
Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Jack, Johnson,
Kaufman, Lampasas, McLennan, Mills, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker,
Rockwall, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, Wise and Young. In
northeast Texas, Delta, Hopkins, Lamar, Rains and Van Zandt.

* WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water
crossings may become flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches, with isolated higher
amounts above 5 inches, especially south of I-20 and west of
I-35.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING TO JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT

TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...South Sulphur River near Cooper.

* WHEN...From this morning to just after midnight tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Minor out of bank flooding will occur. A
few rural roads will begin to flood. Minor flooding will occur to
farm and ranch land adjacent to the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.9
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this
afternoon.
