This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.


Widespread thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and
continue tonight, with a threat for very large hail, damaging winds,
and tornadoes. There is also the threat of very heavy rainfall and
the potential for flash flooding. Severe Thunderstorm Watch 183 is in
effect until 10 PM CDT/ 9 PM MDT.

Lightning and gusty, erratic winds could pose a risk for fire starts
across western areas this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.


Critical fire weather is expected next week across western portions
of the area from Monday afternoon through Thursday before fire
weather concerns start to decrease Friday.

High winds are possible Monday through Thursday next week across the
Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains and surrounding foothills.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM CDT

FOR WESTERN ECTOR...NORTH CENTRAL WARD AND SOUTHEASTERN WINKLER
COUNTIES...

At 454 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wink, moving
north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Kermit, Wink, and Wickett.

This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 73 and 76.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for western
Texas.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Crane County in western Texas...
Ector County in western Texas...
West Central Midland County in western Texas...
Northeastern Ward County in western Texas...
Winkler County in western Texas...

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 448 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Odessa, Monahans, Kermit, Thorntonville, Goldsmith, West Odessa,
Wickett, Notrees, Penwell, Monahans Sandhills State Park, Roy Hurd
Memorial Airport and Odessa Schlemeyer Field.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
