DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage and intensity
this evening. The threat of severe weather is present across the
entire area, but the greatest threat will be across eastern
Oklahoma. All severe hazards will be possible, including
tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds. By late this evening,
additional storms to the west will merge with ongoing activity,
and will shift the severe threat towards a heavy rain and flash
flooding threat. The highest flood threat remains across eastern
Oklahoma, but all areas have at least some potential. Total
rainfall in the hardest hit areas may exceed several inches.

Continue to pay special attention to forecast updates considering
the ongoing dual threat of severe weather and flooding rains through
tonight.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Heavy rain will continue into Sunday across northwest Arkansas
before it finally moves east. Additional strong to severe storms
are possible across southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas
Sunday afternoon. Winds will remain breezy with gusts of 30 to 40
miles an hour.

For the rest of the week we will see additional rounds of rain and
thunderstorms, including the threat of severe weather and heavy
rains for mid week.

extending from 3 miles southeast of Enterprise to 3 miles south of
Kiowa, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

- At 213 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, northeast, and southeast
Oklahoma, including the following counties, in east central
Oklahoma, Cherokee, Muskogee and Okfuskee. In northeast Oklahoma,
Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa,
Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington OK. In southeast
Oklahoma, McIntosh and Pittsburg.

* WHEN...From 4 PM CDT this afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop to the west
of the area this afternoon and increase in areal coverage and
intensity as they move into eastern Oklahoma this evening and
continue into the overnight hours. Expect rainfall amounts
from 2 to 5 inches to be common, with localized totals from 6
to 7 inches.
