This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Far Southeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...After midnight.

DISCUSSION...
Isolated thunderstorms may be ongoing early this morning across
northwest Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma, however the severe
weather trend will diminish toward sunrise and thunderstorms
are expected to dissipate. Additional storms may develop late
tonight near far southeast Oklahoma and these storms will pose
a limited risk of severe weather. Locations near the Oklahoma
Kansas border will be another area to monitor for late night
storms. Currently the chances appear very low in the area but
should storms develop then severe weather will be possible.

Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

WEDNESDAY...Severe Thunderstorm and High Wind Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY through SUNDAY...No Hazards.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms are likely to develop in or near portions of
northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas early on Wednesday.
Storms will increase in coverage through the day as a cold
front sweeps southward. Severe weather is likely with these
storms with large hail and locally damaging winds the primary
hazards. A tornado threat will also exist with the most
intense storms. Storm chances diminish on Thursday with
dry and mild weather returning to the region for late week
into the weekend.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Arkansas, including the following
counties, Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Madison and Washington AR and
Oklahoma, including the following counties, Adair, Cherokee,
Muskogee and Sequoyah.

* WHEN...Until 545 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 239 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM EARLY THIS MORNING TO EARLY

THURSDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Illinois River at Chewey.

* WHEN...From early this morning to early Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Fidler`s
Bend to near Hanging Rock. Road access near the river to
residential homes southeast of Chewey Bridge may be compromised.
Water begins to impact 630 Road east of the Cherokee/Adair County
line. Floating the river is too hazardous due to strong turbulence.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.5
feet just after midnight tonight.
- Action stage is 9.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River near Watts.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from the Arkansas
border to near Fidler`s Bend. Extreme turbulence makes the river
unsafe for floating.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 5.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 13.5 feet this evening. It
will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
