DISCUSSION...
Numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through early evening
primarily along and southeast of Interstate 44. Scattered severe storms
are possible with a risk of large hail, locally damaging winds, and a
few tornadoes. The risk of severe weather is gradually spread eastward
and diminish by mid evening. Additionally, flash flooding remains a concern
with areas of heavy rain through mid evening. Main stem river flooding
is ongoing across portions of the region due to the recent heavy rains.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Another storm system will arrive Tuesday, continuing to affect the
area through Friday. The main impact will be repeated chances for
thunderstorms and severe weather potential. Due to the previously
wet conditions and additional rainfall, flooding concerns may again

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 553 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

hazardous due to strong turbulence.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties,
Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Franklin, Madison, Sebastian and
Washington AR and Oklahoma, including the following counties,
Adair, Cherokee, Choctaw, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore,
Ottawa, Pushmataha and Sequoyah.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Shower and thunderstorm redevelopment this afternoon is
expected across the watch area. Additional rainfall amounts
combined with previous rainfall will maintain a flood threat
through this evening.
Therefore, the flood watch will now be in effect until 1 am
Monday.
