This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Kentucky, southeast
Ohio, southwest Virginia and much of West Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Another slow-moving system will bring widespread shower and
thunderstorm activity later today. Localized flash flooding is
possible, especially for areas that received the most rain from the
previous system.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.


Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue on Saturday as slow
moving system approaches. Heavy downpours are possible within some
more intense showers and thunderstorms. Flooding concerns are
possible once again for Saturday into Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Lawrence County in southeastern Ohio...
North Central Cabell County in central West Virginia...

* Until 345 AM EDT.

* At 1143 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Ashland, Coal Grove, Chesapeake, Proctorville, Burlington,
Athalia, Scottown and Green Bottom.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Corbin Creek, Little Paddy Creek, Ohio River, Ice Creek, Big
Spring Creek, Leatherwood Creek, Buffalo Creek, Paddy Creek,
Twomile Creek, Big Branch Creek, Guyan Creek, Little Ice Creek,
Michael Branch, Symmes Creek, Wolf Creek, Scarey Creek, Indian
Guyan Creek, Little Indian Guyan Creek, Dog Fork, Bear Creek,
Solida Creek, Perry Creek, Lick Creek, Shoal Creek, Ninemile
Creek, Clyffeside Branch, Little Swan Creek, Fivemile Creek and
Goose Run.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
