This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Late This Afternoon and Tonight.

Although the vast majority of our forecast area will remain
thunderstorm-free, limited places stand a slight chance of storms.
One such area is generally east of a line from Greeley to Geneva
Nebraska, where a storm or two could occur mainly prior to 8 PM.
The other portion of our area with a slight chance of storms,
mainly for this evening, is in our far southern counties...Rooks,
Osborne and Mitchell counties in Kansas.

IF any storms do manage to develop over, or move into our
forecast area, there is an outside chance they could become strong
to marginally severe, with the main threats being winds of 50 to
60 MPH and possibly small hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Periodic chances for thunderstorms exist through much of the week,
with some of the overall-higher chances currently forecast during
the evening and overnight hours Sunday into early Monday, and
again Monday into early Tuesday.

During both of these time frames, most of our forecast area is
under a Marginal to Slight Risk for severe storms, with the higher
Slight Risk categories focused mainly within counties west of
Highway 281. Damaging wind and possibly large hail will be the
main threats with any severe storms, along with heavy rainfall
that could promote localized flooding issues, especially if this
rain falls over areas that have recently received heavy rain.

Beyond Monday night into Tuesday morning, there is still too much
forecast uncertainty to confidently assess the potential for
severe storms.
