This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Although the vast majority of our forecast area will remain
thunderstorm-free, limited places stand a slight chance of storms
this evening. One such area is generally north of a line from Loup
City to Geneva Nebraska, where a few storms could occur mainly
prior to 8 PM. The other part of our area with a slight chance of
evening storms is our far southern counties...Rooks, Osborne and
Mitchell counties in Kansas.

Severe storms appear fairly unlikely with potential activity in
either area, but gusty winds and possibly small hail cannot be
totally ruled out.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Periodic chances for thunderstorms exist through much of the week,
with some of the overall-higher chances currently forecast during
the evening and overnight hours Sunday into early Monday, and
again Monday into early Tuesday.

During both of these time frames, most of our forecast area is
under a Marginal to Slight Risk for severe storms, with the
higher Slight Risk categories focused mainly within counties west
of Highway 281. Damaging winds and possibly large hail will be the
main threats with any severe storms, along with heavy rainfall
that could promote localized flooding issues, especially in those
areas already fairly saturated from recent heavy rain.

Beyond Monday night into Tuesday morning, there is still too much
forecast uncertainty to confidently assess the potential for
severe storms.
