Southern Newton County in southwestern Missouri...
Northern Stone County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until midnight CDT tonight.

* At 553 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Highlandville, Pineville, Marionville, Clever, Anderson, Noel,
Sparta, Crane, Goodman, Purdy, Billings, South West City,

Fairview, Dodge, Shell Knob, Fremont Hills, Butterfield, Mccord
Bend, Golden, Emerald Beach, Eagle Rock, Pioneer, Hurley, Spokane,
Stella, Cayuga and Chain-O-Lakes.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Weather hazards expected...

Elevated tornado risk.
Significant hail risk.
Significant thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Significant lightning risk.
Elevated excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Severe thunderstorms are likely through this evening with very
large hail up to the size of baseballs, damaging winds up to 60-80
mph, and tornadoes. Highest potential for severe storms is along
and south of a Nevada to Warsaw to Rolla line.

Localized heavy rainfall may result in flooding, especially for
areas northeast of a line from Stockton to Marshfield to
Eminence. A Flood Watch has been issued for this area, where
storms may drop 1 to 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts
of 3 to 6 inches.
