This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Weather hazards expected...

Limited lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

A few thunderstorms may develop across far southeast Kansas prior
to sunrise however most storms should hold off until after 7-8am
Wednesday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.


Severe thunderstorms likely Wednesday with very large hail up
to the size of baseballs, damaging winds and tornadoes. First
round expected in the morning with round two in the late
afternoon and evening. Highest potential for severe storms along
and southeast of a Joplin to Warsaw line.

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...The National Weather Service in Springfield MO has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...

James River near Boaz affecting Christian and Stone Counties.

For the James River...including Galena, Boaz...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...James River near Boaz.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Low lying areas near the river flood.
Flows may be dangerous for canoers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 8.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 11.0 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.1 feet on 04/21/1976.
