...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following
county, Linn and west central Missouri, including the following
counties, Bates and Henry.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 853 AM CDT, The transportation department reported heavy
rain in The Department of Transportation has reported that
Highway B in southern Bates County is closed due to water
over the roadway due to thunderstorms. Two to five inches of
rain has fallen across the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clinton, Butler, Adrian, Rich Hill, Pleasanton, La Cygne,
Mound City, Calhoun, Deepwater, Montrose, Hume, Blue Mound,
Prescott, Coal, Amsterdam, Amoret, Rockville, Foster,
Brownington and Tightwad.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 851 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sedalia, Warrensburg, Harrisonville, Peculiar, Louisburg,
Windsor, Knob Noster, Holden, Adrian, Garden City, La Cygne,
Whiteman Air Force Base, Archie, La Monte, Drexel, Linn

* WHERE...Marais Des Cygnes River near Trading Post.

* WHEN...Until late Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Flooding of low-lying farmland occurs and
water begins to approach Stateline Road north of the river gauge.
At 29.0 feet, Stateline Road is flooded north of the river gauge.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:31 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 26.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early this
morning to 36.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will
then fall tomorrow evening. It will rise to 35.1 feet Tuesday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday
evening.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...South Grand River at Urich.

* WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Flooding occurs across locations within
0.5 to 1.5 miles of the river. Areas affected include low lying
pastures along with cropland and secondary roads.
At 28.0 feet, K Highway is under water approximately 1 mile south
of Urich. Many other roads along the river are flooded as well.
At 29.5 feet, Flood waters approach 4th Street at Elm Street, and
one block west of Green Street. Basement and garage flooding also
occurs near 4th and Elm streets.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:15 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 20.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this morning
to 29.3 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall
early tomorrow afternoon. It will rise to 29.2 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

This hazardous weather outlook is for northwest...north central and
west central Missouri...as well as extreme eastern Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Severe weather is possible this afternoon into this evening with
damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado the main
threats.

In addition, most of the area has received 2 to 5 inches of rain
over the past two days so any heavy showers will have the potential
to cause flash flooding as well as aggravate ongoing minor to
moderate river flooding.

Severe storms may be possible on Tuesday.

KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri,
including the following areas, Bates, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass,
Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson
MO, Lafayette, Livingston, Pettis, Platte, Randolph, Ray and
Saline.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
heavy rain.
