...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Missouri, including the
following counties, Cass, Henry and Johnson.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 211 PM CDT, the transportation department reported closed
roads in the warned area due to earlier thunderstorms.
Flooding is already occurring. Additional thunderstorms will
affect the area over the next hour, producing between a half
and one inch of rainfall.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Harrisonville, Windsor, Garden City, Archie, Leeton, Urich,
Calhoun, Creighton, Chilhowee, Whiteman Afb, Blairstown,
Quick City, La Tour and Post Oak.

Big Creek at Blairstown affecting Johnson, Cass and Henry
Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING TO EARLY SATURDAY

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Big Creek at Blairstown.

* WHEN...From this morning to early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, The west bank of the creek begins to flood.
At 23.0 feet, Flooding occurs at the west approach to the N
Highway bridge located 0.2 miles west of Blairstown. Flooding also
occurs across B Highway near Big Creek which is several miles
northwest of Blairstown.
At 26.0 feet, Many farm levees along Big Creek are overtopped.
Flooding of rural areas behind the levees occurs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 21.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.0
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
early Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
