This hazardous weather outlook is for northwest...north central and
west central Missouri...as well as extreme eastern Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Severe weather is possible this afternoon into this evening with
damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado the main
threats.

In addition, most of the area has received 2 to 5 inches of rain
over the past two days so any heavy showers will have the potential
to cause flash flooding as well as aggravate ongoing minor to
moderate river flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday


Severe storms may be possible on Tuesday.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT THIS EVENING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Missouri,
including the following counties, in north central Missouri,
Carroll, Chariton, Linn, Livingston and Macon. In northeast
Missouri, Adair.

* WHEN...Until 615 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 228 PM CDT, Flooding from the heavy rain last night is
still ongoing across much of the warned area. Therefore, the
warning has been extended.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kirksville, Brookfield, Marceline, La Plata, Bucklin,
Meadville, Hale, Atlanta, Laclede, Callao, Linneus, Brashear,
Wheeling, New Cambria, Purdin, Mendon, Bogard, Tina, Gibbs
and Sumner.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Missouri...

Grand River near Sumner affecting Chariton, Livingston, Linn and
Carroll Counties.

For the Grand River...including Chillicothe, Sumner, Brunswick...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Grand River near Sumner.

* WHEN...Until Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Bottomland 1 to 2 miles south of the gage
begins to flood.
At 26.0 feet, Rural land adjacent to the river is flooded.
At 28.0 feet, Rural roads are under water.
At 37.0 feet, State Highway 139 floods a half mile east of Sumner.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 25.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 35.9
feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage Wednesday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
