This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and
southern Minnesota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.


Showers and thunderstorms develop this evening and continue
overnight. A few stronger storms capable of producing gusty winds
and small hail are possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.


A few storms could be strong to severe Tuesday PM.

Heavy rainfall is likely and totals may exceed 3 inches. This
will likely lead to rises on rivers and their tributaries through
the end of the week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SKYWARN spotter activation will not be needed.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Minnesota...

Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Lac qui Parle, Chippewa
and Yellow Medicine Counties.

.High water continues along the Minnesota River near Montevideo due
to recent rainfall. Widespread rain is becoming increasingly likely
this evening and again on Tuesday, which will lead to steady or
rising river levels in the coming days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...


* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the
river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along
the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 800 AM CDT Sunday, the stage was 14.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 800 AM CDT Sunday was 14.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Thursday afternoon and continue falling to 13.4 feet Sunday,
May 26.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
14.6 feet on 07/26/1962.
