THROUGH THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Washington DC, Maryland and northern Virginia, including
the following areas: in DC, District of Columbia. In Maryland,
Anne Arundel, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast
Montgomery, Prince Georges and Southern Baltimore. In northern
Virginia, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria and Fairfax.
* WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and
evening, with the most widespread activity late this
afternoon into early this evening. Thunderstorms will produce
heavy rainfall with localized rainfall amounts around 1 to 3
inches within an hour or two. Heavy amounts of rain in a
short period of time may lead to rapid rises of creeks and
streams as well as the potential for flash flooding in urban
areas.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Scattered severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening,
with locally damaging wind gusts being the primary threat.
A Flood Watch is in effect for the Washington and Baltimore
Metropolitan areas from 2 PM until 10 PM for potential flash
flooding in urban areas. Elsewhere, isolated instances of flash
flooding are possible this afternoon through this evening.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
