* Flash Flood Warning for...

St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 200 AM CDT.

* At 1109 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Covington, Franklinton, Greensburg,
Amite, Ponchatoula, Amite City, Abita Springs, Independence,
Roseland, Albany, Madisonville, Folsom, Springfield, Sun,

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Livingston, St. Helena, St. John The Baptist, St.
Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington.

* WHEN...Until 130 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1033 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Covington, Franklinton,
Greensburg, Amite, Ponchatoula, Amite City, Abita Springs,

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Central Tangipahoa, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana,
Eastern Ascension, Eastern Orleans, Iberville, Lower Tangipahoa,
Northern Livingston, Northern St. Tammany, Northern Tangipahoa,
Pointe Coupee, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Livingston,
Southwestern St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St.
John The Baptist, Upper Jefferson, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St.
Bernard, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, Western
Ascension and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi, including
the following areas, Amite, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison,
Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Southern Hancock, Southern

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of storms will be moving through the area
tonight and continuing through Saturday morning. 3 to 6
inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts will be
possible, enhancing the flash flood threat.

Warning for the following rivers in Louisiana...

Tangipahoa River Near Robert affecting Tangipahoa Parish.

For the Tangipahoa River...including Osyka, Kentwood, Tangi. River
near Tickfaw, Amite, Robert...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT TO EARLY TUESDAY

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Tangipahoa River near Robert.

* WHEN...From late Friday night to early Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Low places along Highway 22 south of
Robert will be under water. Water will approach the entrance of
Hidden Oaks Campground. Trailers at the camp ground will be unable
to be moved out when the river reaches 18 feet.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 12.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Saturday morning to a crest of 17.5 feet early Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Monday
evening.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
