...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Northern Calcasieu,
Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the following
areas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Northern Orange,
Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, Tyler and Upper Jefferson.

* WHEN...Through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and
streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are set to move
across southeast Texas and central Louisiana today and
Friday. Shortwave trof moving across northeast Texas will
send these rounds into a deeply moist airmass feeding right
off the Gulf consisting of PWATs 1.60 to 2.00 inches.
Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour will be possible and
areas with ongoing flooding are urged to be mindful of very
swiftly exacerbated flooding conditions. Current forecasts
indicate each line should move through the region rather
progressively, move fairly progressively, however, any
deviation or slow-
down of precipitation would possibly result in another 3 to 8
inches of rain inside the flood watch area. Isolated higher
amounts will be possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
