...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN MARTIN AND NORTH
CENTRAL PIKE COUNTIES THROUGH 615 PM EDT...

At 530 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Kimper, or 9 miles northeast of Pikeville, moving north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Forest Hills, Rural, Huddy, Meta, Mcandrews, Turkey Creek, Pilgrim,
Belfry, Hatfield Station, Heisey, Whitepost, Hardy, Conder, Sidney,
Oppy, Canada, Varney, and Kermit.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM EDT THIS EVENING...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
county, Pike.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 510 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
nearly stationary showers and thunderstorms. Minor flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Belcher, Cedarville and Rockhouse.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
