This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


A few thunderstorms are possible today, with even greater chances
this evening and overnight. Lightning and heavy rainfall appear to
be the primary hazards.

River flooding continues along several area rivers this week.
Refer to the river flood products for additional details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday


Thunderstorm chances are in the forecast on Tuesday and again
Thursday afternoon through Friday. Lightning and heavy rainfall
appear to be the primary hazards.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Illinois...Kentucky...

Ohio River at Olmsted Lock and Dam affecting Ballard and Pulaski
Counties.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Illinois...Missouri...Kentucky...

Ohio River at Cairo affecting Mississippi, Ballard, Fulton,
Hickman, Pulaski, Alexander and Carlisle Counties.

For the Ohio River...including Owensboro, Newburgh Dam, Evansville,
Henderson, Mount Vernon, J.T. Myers Dam, Shawneetown, Golconda,
Smithland Dam, Paducah, Olmsted Lock and Dam, Cairo...Minor flooding
is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

- At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 43.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 AM CDT Monday was 43.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Thursday evening and continue falling to 32.5 feet
Thursday, May 23.
- Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
43.2 feet on 03/01/2001.
