This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
There is a slight risk for strong to severe storms today, mainly
across the Flint Hills and southeast Kansas. The main risks will be
dime to quarter size hail and 50 to 60 mph wind gusts.
Some pockets of heavy rainfall will also remain possible across the
Flint Hills and southeast Kansas which may aggravate existing
flooding or result in additional flooding. Some rivers will also be
near bankfull or experience minor to moderate flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday
Periodic chances for thunderstorms will return to the forecast on
Tuesday and continue through Thursday night and Friday. Strong
storms will be possible with some risk for a few severe storms and
locally heavy rainfall which may result in flooding.

Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.

...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Additional hit-or-miss thunderstorms remain possible today.
While widespread additional heavy rainfall is unlikely, any
additional rain will only aggravate ongoing flooding concerns over
southeast Kansas.
* WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the following
counties, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery,
Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Low-water crossings may be flooded.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.
