This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited hail risk.
Elevated thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Elevated lightning risk.
Limited excessive rainfall risk
DISCUSSION...
A severe thunderstorm complex across central Kansas will begin to
move into southeast Kansas after 10pm. Damaging winds of 60 to 80
mph and frequent lightning are the main risks however large hail
up to the size of golf balls will be a secondary concern. While
this line of storms will weaken as it enters Missouri, damaging
winds up to 60 mph may continue into areas along and north of a
Columbus Kansas to Nevada line. Storms will continue to weaken
east of Interstate 49 however lightning and winds of 40 to 50 mph
may continue west of Highway 65.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
There is a conditional threat for showers and thunderstorms
Monday
afternoon (15-30% chance) north of Highway 32/I-44. If storms do
form, a few could be capable of small hail and an isolated
damaging wind gust or two.
Thunderstorm chances increase Tuesday evening through Wednesday
evening bringing a greater potential for severe weather. Damaging
winds will be the main threat with these storms, but large hail,
a
spinup tornado or two, and flooding are secondary threats.
Daily 30-50% chances for showers and thunderstorms exist through
the weekend.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be needed overnight across southeast
Kansas and western Missouri.
