This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Strong southerly winds will develop late this afternoon and evening
in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties, where
sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph will gust up to 50 mph. Wind of this
magnitude may create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high
profile vehicles on east west routes, such as Interstate 70, where
cross winds will be strongest.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...

Thunderstorms will develop along an eastward advancing dryline in
western and central Kansas early Monday afternoon, mainly along and
east of Highway 283, where severe thunderstorms capable of producing
very large hail and damaging winds are possible. In northwest Kansas,
the window of opportunity for severe weather will likely be confined
to the early afternoon, affecting locations along and east of a line
from Norton to Hill City to Wakeeney.

30 to 45 mph west southwest winds and low relative humidity readings
will foster a very high grassland fire danger potential over
portions of the Tri-State area during the late morning and afternoon
hours on both Monday and Tuesday, especially south of Interstate 70.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
