This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.



Strong southerly winds will develop late this afternoon and evening
in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties, where
sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph will gust up to 50 mph. Wind of this
magnitude may create hazardous travel conditions, especially for
high profile vehicles on east west routes, such as Interstate 70,
where cross winds will be strongest.



Thunderstorms will develop along an eastward advancing dryline in
western and central Kansas late Monday morning through early
afternoon, mainly along and east of Highway 283, where severe
thunderstorms capable of producing very large hail and damaging winds
are possible.

30 to 45 mph west southwest winds and low relative humidity readings
will foster a very high grassland fire danger potential over
portions of the Tri-State area during the late morning and afternoon
hours on both Monday and Tuesday, especially south of Interstate 70.
