This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Thunderstorms are expected to move across the area late this afternoon
and this evening from west to east, and there will be the
potential for some storms to be strong to severe. The best chances
for any severe weather looks to be west of Highway 281, mainly
between 6 PM and midnight. Hail near the size of quarters and
damaging wind gusts near 60 MPH would be the primary hazards.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Thunderstorm chances continue across the entire outlook area into
Wednesday, and there will again be the potential for some to be
strong to severe during the late afternoon and evening hours. The
best chances for any severe weather would be roughly along and
southeast of a line from Belgrade to Republican City Nebraska,
and into north central Kansas. Hail near the size of quarters and
damaging wind gusts near 60 MPH would again be the primary
hazards.
Periodic thunderstorm chances remain in the forecast Thursday
through Monday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be needed this evening for areas mainly
west of Highway 281.
