This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


A few thunderstorms will be possible mainly over the southeast
half of the Quad State this afternoon and evening. Lightning and
brief heavy downpours will be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday


Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon and
evening, and scattered thunderstorms are forecast Sunday
afternoon through Monday. A few storms in the heat of the day this
weekend could produce gusty winds, but lightning and locally
heavy downpours will be the primary concerns through this period.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with a severe and heavy rainfall
threat are possible Tuesday through Thursday. At this time, the
threat for severe storms is greatest Tuesday and Tuesday night.
The flooding potential will increase with each round of storms.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may become necessary Tuesday and Wednesday.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Missouri...Illinois...

Mississippi River at Chester.

Mississippi River near Herculaneum.

Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 31.5 feet, In Perry County, Highway E is closed
between County Road 322 and Levee Road (County Road 354) at Bois
Brule Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 30.8 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 PM CDT Thursday was 31.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.6
feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage late Monday morning.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

.Recent heavy rainfall will cause the Mississippi River upstream of
the Ohio confluence to rise above flood stage this week and remain
in flood until early next week.

For the Mississippi River...including Cape Girardeau and Thebes...
Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
