Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Areas of dense fog will continue through daybreak across portions
of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and far western
Kentucky. Refer to the dense fog advisory for more details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday


Thunderstorm chances return by Thursday and continue daily through
the weekend. The best chance will be Thursday night into Friday.
Locally heavy rain and lightning will be the main hazards.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following points along the

Mississippi River...

Mississippi River at Saverton.

Mississippi River at Louisiana.

Mississippi River at Clarksville.

Mississippi River near Herculaneum.

Mississippi River at St. Louis.

Mississippi River at Hannibal.

Mississippi River at Winfield.

Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

Mississippi River at Grafton.

Mississippi River at Chester.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT UNTIL FURTHER

NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 34.7 feet, The north parking lot at Menard
Correctional Center begins flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 19.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of
34.4 feet early Friday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
