This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois and west
central Illinois.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
A broken line of thunderstorms is expected to develop along an
advancing cold front across eastern Iowa this afternoon...then spread
into west-central Illinois early this evening. Some of the storms
could become severe...producing damaging wind gusts of around 60mph,
large hail up to quarter-sized, and localized flash flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

Spotter activation may be needed between 6pm and 10pm.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR NORTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN, SOUTHWESTERN SANGAMON AND
SOUTHEASTERN MORGAN COUNTIES...
At 1249 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Although heavy rain has ended, up
to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Springfield, Taylorville, Chatham, Auburn, Pawnee, Kincaid,
Waverly, Divernon, Edinburg, Franklin, Bulpitt, Jeisyville,
Thayer, Tovey, Berry, Glenarm, Sicily, Sangchris Lake State Park,
Roby and Sharpsburg.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
