...The Flood Warning is extended for the following points along the

Illinois River...

Illinois River at Hardin.

Illinois River at Meredosia.

Illinois River at Valley City.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River at Meredosia.

* WHEN...From late Wednesday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, City of Meredosia plugs storm sewer
outlets.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 15.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Thursday morning and continue rising to 18.0 feet early
Sunday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

- At 7:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:45 PM CDT Monday was 16.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.0
feet Monday, May 06.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
