THROUGH 730 PM CDT...
At 644 PM CDT, emergency management reported reduced visibility
along a gust front extending from near Lake Of The Woods to near
Cisco to near Dalton City to near Tower Hill. Movement was east at
35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and visibility to under a mile due
to blowing dust.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Low or rapilidly changing visibility
over short distances will result in hazardous travel
conditions.
Locations impacted include...
Champaign, Urbana, Charleston, Mattoon, Rantoul, Monticello,
Shelbyville, Tuscola, Sullivan, Arcola, Neoga, Toledo, Savoy,
Mahomet, St. Joseph, Tolono, Villa Grove, Arthur, Fisher, and Bement.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 57 between mile markers 171 and 257.
Interstate 70 near mile marker 117, and between mile markers 121 and
126.
Interstate 72 between mile markers 156 and 182.
Interstate 74 between mile markers 161 and 198.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Reduced visibility can result in dangerous driving conditions. If
driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in blowing dust,
pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the
brake.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Illinois.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
A line of thunderstorms will move into the area early this evening.
Some of these storms will be strong to severe, with damaging winds
the primary concern. The storms will begin to weaken around sunset,
as they approach the I-57 corridor.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Occasional thunderstorms will occur Sunday night through Wednesday
night, with a risk for severe storms on Tuesday and Wednesday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be needed this evening, with the most likely
time frame between 5 pm and 9 pm.
Expected storm motion is toward the east-northeast around 30 mph.
