Significant Thunderstorm Risk late tonight.

DISCUSSION...

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move into northern
Illinois after 3 am. While the threat of widespread severe weather
with these storms is low, the strongest storms may be capable of
producing gusty winds and small hail.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Illinois...

Illinois River at La Salle affecting La Salle, Bureau and Putnam
Counties.

For the Illinois River (Upper)...including La Salle...Minor flooding
is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River from Starved Rock Lock and Dam downstream
to confluence with Big Bureau Creek, including the La Salle gauge.

* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Agricultural areas in La Salle, Spring
Valley, and Peru are inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:45 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 20.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:45 PM CDT Sunday was 21.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
tomorrow morning and continue falling to 16.3 feet Sunday,
May 12.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
