This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.


Weather hazards expected...

Limited Thunderstorm Risk overnight.

DISCUSSION...

A few thunderstorms may develop late tonight as a warm front
lifts into the area. Severe weather is not expected.

Minor river flooding will continue in a few areas through the
weekend.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.


Thursday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Friday through Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected over the next
several days. Late Thursday afternoon and evening, a few strong
to severe thunderstorms may occur with the warm front passage.
There is a threat for locally heavy rainfall Thursday night,
which could result in flooding at some locations.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 25 mph.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Illinois...

Illinois River at La Salle affecting Putnam, La Salle and Bureau
Counties.

For the Illinois River (Upper)...including Morris, Ottawa, La
Salle...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...


* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River from Starved Rock Lock and Dam downstream
to confluence with Big Bureau Creek, including the La Salle gauge.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Lower parking lot at Starved Rock State
Park is inundated east of La Salle. High water levels begin to
impact shipping interests along the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 23.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM CDT Wednesday was 23.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Saturday evening and continue falling to 18.3 feet
Wednesday, May 08.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
