...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of south central
Whiteside, east central Rock Island and northern Henry Counties
through 645 PM CDT...

At 558 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Silvis, or near East Moline, moving east at 45 mph. The Quad Cities
International Airport observed 45 mph wind gusts with this storm.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Geneseo, Colona, Atkinson, Rapids City, Annawan, Hooppole, Cleveland,
Osborn, Dayton, Hillsdale, Barstow, Spring Hill, Leon Corners,
Morristown, Green River, Shady Beach, and Joslin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforecement.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT


Isolated showers and storms are possible late this afternoon into
the early evening. A marginal risk for severe storms continues
along and east of the Mississippi River into this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY


Wednesday, there is another Marginal Risk for severe storms for
the entire outlook area during the afternoon into the evening.
The main risks will be lightning, strong gusty winds, and hail.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated tonight but may be needed
again on Wednesday.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Toward the northeast around 50 mph.
