This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
Showers and thunderstorms are likely today and through tonight.
There is a Marginal risk, or level 1 out of 5 risk, for severe
weather, especially for storms this afternoon and evening. There
is also a threat for heavy rainfall, which could pose a risk for
localized flooding. A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of
southeast Iowa, where conditions are more favorable due to
rainfall from this morning.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
Additional chances for showers and storms over the weekend and
early next week, however it is too early to determine the severe
weather threat.

Spotter activation may be needed today and tonight.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Iowa, including the following
areas, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Van Buren and Washington.
* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in a short time are
possible. With soils saturated from rainfall this morning,
this will lead to an increased risk of flash flooding through
this evening.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
