...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...


* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Much of central Iowa.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall of 3 to 5 inches with isolated higher amounts fell
over parts of central Iowa last night into this morning and
led to flash flooding in some areas. Additional round of
storms is expected this afternoon that may cause new flash
flooding or prolong or renew flash flooding in areas that
experienced flash flooding earlier.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

North Raccoon River near Perry affecting Greene and Dallas
Counties.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON TO SATURDAY

EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding is possible.

* WHERE...The North Raccoon River near Perry, or from the
Greene-Dallas County line...to Adel.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Water affects the wastewater treatment
facility as well as agricultural land in the Perry area. Near
Adel...water affects the fairgrounds and golf course. Northwest of
Adel...water affects Sportsman Club Rd and Midland Trl.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 8.8 feet.
- Forecast...Flood stage may be reached Thursday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight


Thunderstorms from overnight are expected to linger through the
morning with damaging winds and flash flooding the primary
threats. Additional storms are expected to develop during the
afternoon with tornadoes, damaging winds, flash flooding, and
large hail all possible. The worst of the storms will be primarily
after 3pm. Winds could gust over 40mph at times as storms exit.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday


Additional thunderstorm chances return at times Friday and
through the weekend. The severe weather potential for these days
will be better determined in the coming days.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters will likely be needed at times today.
