This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest
Iowa...west central Iowa...east central Nebraska...northeast
Nebraska and southeast Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Severe storms will again be possible this morning into the early
afternoon. The time frame for severe weather will be from around
11 am through 3 pm. Large hail, damaging wind gusts and flash
flooding are the main hazards. Tornadoes are possible along and
east of the Missouri River.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday


There will be another marginal risk of severe weather on
Thursday.

Spotter activation might be required late this morning into the
early afternoon.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring, and is
expected to continue through early afternoon.

* WHERE...Portions of Harrison, Pottawattamie and Shelby counties in
Iowa, and Burt, Butler, Colfax, Dodge, Douglas, Saunders and
Washington counties in Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. While some of the smaller
streams have already reached their highest levels, some of the
larger streams will continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water
from these storms to work through local drainage systems in some
urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 727 AM CDT, emergency management, trained spotters,
public, and broadcast media have reported heavy rain in the
warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing.
Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen in most of the
warned area, but up to 10 inches of rain is estimated by
radar in western Saunders county.
- Some locations within this larger flood warning remain in a
flash flood warning. These areas can expect the continued
threat of very rapid rises in water levels until those flash
flood warnings expire.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Omaha, northern Council Bluffs, Fremont, Blair, Harlan,
Wahoo, David City, Tekamah, Bennington, Boys Town, Elkhorn,
Carter Lake, Missouri Valley, Valley, Logan, Avoca,
Arlington, North Bend, Yutan and Underwood.

Southeastern Washington County in east central Nebraska...

* Until 1100 AM CDT.

* At 711 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Blair, Harlan, Missouri Valley, Avoca, Underwood, Fort Calhoun,
Neola, Walnut, Shelby, Crescent, Minden, Kennard, Persia, Hancock,
