This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT


The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk, level 1 of 5, for
much of the outlook area. There is a small area in western IL
where there is a Slight Risk, level 2 of 5.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon and
continue into the evening hours. The main threats will be hail,
damaging winds up to 60 mph, and frequent lightning. A tornado or
two is possible west of the Mississippi River but this is a low
threat. Any stronger storm may also produce locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY


Thursday: A few thunderstorms are possible as a cold front moves
through the area. However, severe storms are not expected.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening,
mainly between 4 pm and 10 pm.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Toward the northeast at 20 mph.
