This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
There is a Moderate Risk, or a level 4 out of 5 for severe
weather through this evening for most of the Outlook Area. All
severe hazards will be possible including damaging winds of 60 to
80 mph, tornadoes, and large hail. In addition, repeated rounds of
thunderstorms may bring an isolated flash flood risk and ponding
of water.
Some tributary rivers across eastern Iowa are experiencing
flooding. Please see the latest Flood Statements and Flood
Warnings for details.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY
There will be a chance for more thunderstorms on Friday. It is
still uncertain if any storms will be strong or severe, as well as
the ability to produce heavy rainfall.

FOR BUCHANAN...NORTHEASTERN BENTON...WESTERN DELAWARE AND
NORTHWESTERN LINN COUNTIES...
At 701 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Arlington to near Pleasant Creek State Recreation
Area, moving northeast at 70 mph.
THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR northern Buchanan County.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
Locations impacted include...
Independence, Manchester, Center Point, Urbana, Fairbank, Shellsburg,
Edgewood, Winthrop, Hazleton, Walker, Coggon, Quasqueton, Lamont,
Ryan, Rowley, Aurora, Dundee, Masonville, Stanley, and Troy Mills.
This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 34 and 47.

and east central Iowa.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, Robins, Center Point, Fairfax,
Atkins, Walford, Central City, Palo, Shellsburg, Newhall, Walker,

rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Iowa, including the
following counties, in east central Iowa, Benton, Iowa, Johnson
and Linn. In northeast Iowa, Buchanan and Delaware.
* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
