This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight


A line of thunderstorms will enter western Iowa this evening and
move eastward across the state tonight. There is a slight risk of
both severe weather an excessive rainfall, mainly over about the
western and southwestern half of Iowa. The primary severe weather
threat will be damaging wind gusts, but a few tornadoes are also
possible. Meanwhile, heavy rain could lead to new or renewed river
flooding in some areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday


Lower thunderstorm chances are forecast on Wednesday and Thursday.
There may be a low threat of severe weather on Wednesday, but this
will be better assessed in the coming days.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this evening into tonight, especially in
the western half of Iowa.

West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt affecting Humboldt County.

East Fork Des Moines River near Algona affecting Humboldt and
Kossuth Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Des Moines River at Fort Dodge, or from the municipal
power dam...to Lehigh.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, water affects roads to residences in Fort
Dodge along the river and limits access to some subdivisions. At
11.0 feet, water affects lowland areas near the river and
threatens residences along the river in Fort Dodge.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 11.4 feet and falling.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 2:00 AM CDT Monday was 11.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 10.5 feet.
