This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters,
southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of
Mexico.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.


Excessive Heat: Heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees are forecast across most
of the area this afternoon.

Thunderstorms: Isolated-scattered thunderstorms are possible this
afternoon and evening, primarily near the East Coast metro. A few
storms may be strong to severe and would be capable of producing
damaging winds, small hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. A
tornado cannot be ruled out.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.


Heat indices of 103 to 107 degrees will be possible on Sunday,
before finally beginning to drop below 100 next week.

Thunderstorms will be possible each afternoon through early next week. Some
storms may be strong to severe, especially on Sunday, and capable of
producing damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT THIS

EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat indices 106 to 110 degrees are expected this
afternoon

* WHERE...Portions of southeast, southern, and southwest Florida.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
