This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...


Wind chills between 15 and 24 below will continue through tonight.
There is an increased risk of hypothermia and frostbite in these
conditions.

Snow accumulations through tonight of 3 to 6 inches are expected in
northwest Kansas, with lesser amounts in northeast Colorado and
southwest Nebraska. Locally higher amounts are possible along and
south of Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas. Hazardous travel
conditions can be expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...


Wind chills of 15 to 24 below will continue through Monday morning.

Additional snow amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected on Saturday.
Snow will end north to south Saturday afternoon through early
Saturday evening. Hazardous travel conditions can be expected.

Scattered snow showers Sunday afternoon and evening may result in
accumulations of up to 1 inch.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 23 below.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, northwest
and west central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM MST /noon CST/ Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.
